CMPUT 415 Setup Instructions

These instructions are for setting up your development environment for CMPUT 415.

The recommended environment is a CS lab machine, either sitting at one in UCOMM 2-070 or 2-086 or logged in remotely over SSH or X2Go. CS Lab Machines covers connecting to one and the small amount of setup it needs.

In the case that you have an unstable internet connection, it may benefit you to setup the CMPUT 415 environment locally as well. However, be aware that lab exams will be held on the lab machines and you will not be able to use your local setup. Ensure the lab machine is set up to allow you to work effectively during the time-limited exam.

Start with “CS Lab Machines”. Then read the chapter for your own operating system if you intend to work locally as well.
